Cal Carter & Cal Batista · Mura
Project details
In the heart of Mura, Cal Carter, a family restaurant founded in 1964, offers Catalan cuisine based on local produce, reinterpreted through Jordi Perich’s contemporary vision. Next door, Cal Batista focuses on quality produce, traditional recipes, and Catalan-style cooked breakfasts in a relaxed, family atmosphere. The challenge was to create a single kitchen capable of serving both restaurants, with independent work areas and pass counters.
We designed and manufactured a fully bespoke kitchen centred around a high-capacity cooking suite featuring six gas burners integrated into a water-bath system, six induction hobs, a chrome griddle with a perimeter water channel, a large gas paella burner, a fryer with oil filtration and heated drawers. The Cal Batista area also features a charcoal oven and a double fryer. Each pass has its own plate-warming cabinet to ensure dishes are served at the right temperature. The installation includes refrigerated units connected to remote motors and a conditioned air supply, reducing heat in the kitchen and improving staff comfort during service.
